Who Can Join the Speed Team?

South Florida Blades Inline Speed Team welcomes skaters of all ages and skill levels. We have no age limit on our team. We currently have skaters ranging between the ages of 3-55. All we require is that you have a desire to learn to skate and a basic knowledge of skating skills. No matter what your age or skill level, The Blades have a place on our team for you! We have children, teens, adults and even entire families that skate on our team.

Once on the speed team each skater will learn to perform the basic skating techniques needed, stopping, crossing-over, etc. The skating rink has rental skates available but you will eventually need to purchase your own inline skates. If you do not have your own skates, talk to the coaches before buying a pair. They can offer advice on what you need. You also need to have an ANSI certified bicycle helmet to skate practice.

Inline speed skating is healthy, fun, and very rewarding. As you learn the importance of hard work, persistence and determination you will also learn how to set and reach personal goals. Remember, you don't have to BE FAST to join the speed team. Our program will help to MAKE YOU FAST!

As a South Florida Blade team member you will be given the opportunity to participate in local South Florida Speed League Meets, Invitational Meets, Regional, National and some International events. Even though these opportunities are offered, you will not be pressured to compete. Some team members skate only for the awesome training and exercise program.

This season the coaching staff has created a structured and disciplined training schedule specifically designed to accommodate skaters of all ability levels. Whether you are a seasoned pro, advanced skater or just starting out, South Florida Blades has something to offer you!

Our practices are always open, if you are in town visiting or just looking for a little extra practice time feel free to join us. Check out our schedule for practice dates and times.
